We are surrounded by data,

but starved for insights.

About me

A passion for data and an eye for patterns

With a heart that beats for numbers and patterns, I am trying to make sense of the complex world of data. With uncovering hidden insights, developing strategies I am bridging the gap between data and people.

Food is our Medicine

Data and teaching feed our minds while food heals our bodies. I see them as two approaches to the same objective: To help us grow. My love for science, the transformative potential of food to heal us from the inside out, and a better understanding of our environment drives my life and work.

I call that ConCiencia – a scientific approach to the wisdom of traditional philosophy and practices.

In other words the chemistry and notorious studies behind a certain plant or spices. The neuronal activation of the brain while meditation. Effects on our brain of different sound waves of drums …

At the heart of my work is the intersection of data, science and consciousness. It is a challenging combination and I embrace it with digging deeper and discovering more. Through my website, I aim to collect insights and give an easy access to scientific research and traditional practices.

Profession and Education

A passion for data and an eye for patterns

  • In my last station I was working as Head of Data Science & Analytics at the Handelsblatt Media Group. Looking back, I cherish a fulfilling 12-year chapter at FUNKE Media Group, where I worked as Senior Data Analyst to Director, immersing myself in the captivating dance of data.
  •

Ph.D. in Statistics at Dortmund University of Technology
M.Sc. in Data at Dortmund University of Technology
Diploma in Statistics at Universidad de Oriente (VE) / Dortmund University of Technology

Research

The fun doesn't stop at the boundaries of the industry

Since 2018, I’ve been working with brilliant young minds at the International School of Management in Germany. With teaching about digital value networks and business models, Decision Support System and Market Analytics I guide them through their master’s and doctoral journey.

This blend of practical and academic engagement perfectly captures my love for data science and my mission to inspire and empower others in this exciting field.

I want to live a 100% plastic-free life.

Plastic pollution is a serious problem. To ensure a safer future for my daughter and her generation, I am striving to minimise my contribution to this problem by eliminating plastic from my life. This includes choosing products with minimal packaging, Do It Yourself (DIY),  carrying reusable bags and containers, and supporting companies that prioritise sustainable practices.

I love Demeter products. They are special to me.

Demeter products are biodynamic, which means they are grown in harmony with nature. They represent a holistic and ethical approach to farming that not only produces healthier food but also helps heal our planet. This resonates with my principles, and therefore, choosing them is an easy decision for me.

I am opposed to animal testing and for the welfare of both humans and animals. These principles are reflected in my work and personal life.

My private research of animal testing and the impact it has on us has taught me compassion and ethical responsibility. These values are reflected in my work ethic. Data science is not closing related to animal testing, but a lot of harm can come form wrongfully communicated or manipulated data. I am committed to using data ethically and viewing it in a bigger context. And at home, it of course influences my choices; I choose cruelty-free products and adopt sustainable practices.

I am truly fascinated by DIY, fermentation, and working on my own little experiments with conserving food.

DIY and fermenting are creative and resourceful practices that offer a deeper connection with what we consume. Growing my own food reduces my dependence on commercial systems, and fermenting harnesses natural processes to enhance food’s nutritional value. These practices also reduce waste and taste great!

I am a passionate data analyst: But what is the connection between my job and my love of nature and gardening?

Both data analysis and gardening require patience, precision and a deep understanding of how systems interact. Just as I nurture seeds into plants, I nurture raw data into meaningful insights. I teach these values to my daughter Lucia, especially when we garden together. In all cases, I’m contributing to growth – whether it’s helping a business flourish, ensuring my garden thrives, or helping my child to understand patience and the importance of growth.

I try to motivate people and this is reflected in my YouTube Channel.

Hier you find the Link to my Channel, you can put Subtitels in all Languages:

https://www.youtube.com/@vidaenconCiencia

The name combines “vida” (life) in “conCiencia”, a playful fusion that can mean both “with Science” and “Conscience” in Spanish. By separating „con“ and „Ciencia,“ the name cleverly implies that the channel explores life thoughtfully, integrating both scientific insight and mindful awareness.

So, „Vida en conCiencia“ invites viewers to live Life informed by both Science and Conscious Awareness.
